Adopt-An-Angel
Founded in 1980, Adopt-An-Angel calls on the community to help provide a Christmas wish for children who, through no fault of their own, are in shelters, group homes, foster care or low-income homes under the auspices of protective services.
Legacy Real Estate supports Adopt-An-Angel by sponsoring children in need, volunteering time, donating gifts, collecting gifts from all local sponsors, assembling bikes and wrapping presents.
2022 was Legacy Real Estate’s 20th year supporting Adopt-An-Angel. Bill Aboumrad, Legacy Real Estate President & Broker/Owner, seven staff members and 150 associates volunteered over 280+ hours this year. In 2022, Legacy Real Estate sponsored 150 children, donated over 450 gifts valued at over $15,000.
Make-A-Wish Softball Tournament
The Make-A-Wish Foundation touches lives of people across the world by granting the wish of children diagnosed with a critical illness. Legacy owner, Bill Aboumrad, has been a Make-A-Wish Softball Tournament sponsor for nearly 40 years.
In 1988, Legacy Real Estate, known then as Good Real Estate, began sponsoring teams at the annual Make-A-Wish Charity Softball Tournament in cooperation with real estate icon, Fran Baskin. Following Baskin’s retirement, Bill volunteered and donated an additional 5 years of service leading the Annual Make-A-Wish Softball Tournament. His efforts made it possible for 100% of dollars earned to be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
In 2019, Bill was honored as the most senior athlete and sponsor for his decades of service at the Annual Make-A-Wish Charity Softball Tournament. In 2022, Legacy Real Estate donated $3,000 and 15 associates volunteered over 170 hours.
Little League World Series
The Intermediate Little League World Series is a baseball tournament for children aged 11 to 13 years old that began in 2013. It is patterned after the Little League World Series, which was named for the World Series in Major League Baseball. The tournament is held in Livermore, California.
Legacy owner, Bill Aboumrad, has been an active part of the Little League World Series for over 15 years. He has volunteered over 400 + hours maintaining Livermore’s Baer Baseball Park and supporting the Little League World Series Local Association.
In 2022, Legacy Real Estate sponsored $5,000+ in meals for the LLWS athletes and 15 associates donated over 60 hours of time. This year, Bill Aboumrad was named Director, Little League World Series.
Members Helping Members | Georgie Porgie Golf Tournament
Members Helping Members (MHM) raises funds that are distributed to REALTOR® members, Affiliate members or staff who have experienced a catastrophic event in their lives which resulted in a financial hardship. The Georgie Porgie Golf Tournament began July 7, 2017 and is hosted in Castro Valley, CA every year. Legacy Real Estate is an annual food sponsor. Legacy donated $2,000 for food and ten associates donated 30 hours for the Georgie Porgie Golf Tournament.
Cheers to the Future | Scholarship Event
Cheers to the Future is a Bay East Foundation Scholarship fundraising event held annually in April at 3 Steves Winery in Livermore, CA. Twenty $1,000 community scholarships and grants are awarded to Alameda & Contra Costa County students who pursue higher education degrees through the Bay East Foundation Scholarship Program. Legacy Real Estate is the main sponsor and 5+ Legacy associates donate 30+ hours to the Cheers to the Future fundraising event each year.
Parkinson Network of Mt. Diablo | Jeha Golf Classic for Parkinson’s
The Parkinson Network of Mt. Diablo serves to provide information, resources and social interaction to support people living with Parkinson’s Disease and their caregiving community. The Jeha Golf Classic for Parkinson’s started in 2018, is in Walnut Creek, CA and raises funds for the Parkinson Network of Mt. Diablo. Legacy Real Estate sponsored $1,000 at the event and one Legacy Associate has donated 50+ hours to this community outreach program.
